FREE!! The Chicago Midwest Section of the historic National Council of Negro Women, Inc. Established in 1987 is once again preparing for the “Women Making History’ Event, Thursday, March 16, 2023. For the past 22 years, NCNW- Chicago Midwest Section has honored women who are making a difference by carrying on the legacy of our founder Mary McLeod Bethune. This Special Award is presented to women who have been chosen because of their unique lifestyle, which mirrors Mary McLeod Bethune. The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) was founded in 1935 by Ms. Mary McLeod Bethune and it was sustained for many years with Dorothy L Height, who was a role model and legend in her own time, at the hem. Ingrid Sanders Jones has championed the cause as Executive Director since 2012. The Chicago Midwest Section of NCNW’s mission, which is a voluntary non-profit organization, is to improv the quality of life for African American women, their families, and communities.
